Job summary

onlyFE is seeking a Construction Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching to full-time students and apprentices from Entry Level to Level 2. You will draw on carpentry, plumbing or plastering expertise to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours for outstanding outcomes.

You will undertake administrative and curriculum development duties, contributing to teaching standards, learner achievement and an exceptional student experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant construction qualifications at or above level 2.
• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS) or commitment to achieving one.
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or a commitment to obtain Level 2 Functional Skills alongside the post.
• Any additional specialist qualifications where appropriate (e.g., Masters, technical certificates).

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high-quality, engaging teaching to full-time students and apprentices.
• Teach complex concepts using multiple methods to link new and prior knowledge.
• Take ownership of delivering excellent student outcomes and progression.
• Build links with industry, community and employers to inform curriculum updates.
• Produce and maintain schemes of work, assessment plans and teaching resources.
• Conduct initial assessments to tailor inclusive, adaptive teaching for SEND needs.
• Track and act on performance data to support improvement and achievement.
• Provide timely, developmental feedback to support learning.
• Support positive student behaviour and wellbeing with structured support.
• Engage with external showcases and competitions to broaden opportunities.
