Job summary

QC Legal in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious construction lawyer to advise on both contentious and non-contentious matters across infrastructure, energy, power and major development projects. You will support procurement and contract negotiation, and manage disputes through adjudication, arbitration and litigation.

You will help develop client relationships while working with experienced partners on high-profile, technically complex matters within a thriving Birmingham practice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with 4+ years' PQE in construction and engineering law.
  • Experience in contentious construction, non-contentious construction or a combination of both.
  • Strong technical knowledge and a commercial approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience advising on construction contracts, project delivery or dispute resolution matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering matters.
  • Supporting projects from procurement and contract negotiation through to delivery and dispute resolution.
  • Working with industry-standard and bespoke construction contracts including JCT, NEC and international forms.
  • Acting on disputes involving adjudication, arbitration, litigation and ADR processes.
  • Advising clients across sectors including infrastructure, energy, power, manufacturing and major development projects.
  • Building strong client relationships and taking an active role in business development initiatives.
  • Working closely with partners and gaining exposure to high-profile, technically complex matters.
