Job summary

VSL UK, part of the Bouygues Construction Group, is seeking an Assistant Cost Controller within the Finance team in London. The role supports the Senior Cost Controller across procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, and project administration.

The ideal candidate has a finance or accounting background, strong Excel skills, and experience in cost control in construction. Occasional travel to project sites nationwide is required. On-site office based.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in finance, cost control within the construction industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement activities, purchase orders, and supplier payments in SAP.
• Administer subcontractor contracts and monthly payment processes.
• Raise client invoices and support contract administration.
• Assist with monthly project cost‑control activities, including preparing project‑control reports for production meetings.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors and Contract Managers on monthly AFPs.
• Manage NEC contract documentation and support client audit requirements.
• Provide general finance and administrative support, including IT requests and expense‑claim assistance.
• Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement of cost‑control and administrative processes.
