Job summary

SF Partners in Leicestershire is seeking an Estimator / Procurement Specialist to join the Pre-Construction team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will prepare cost estimates, engage with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure high-quality tender submissions are delivered on time.

The role blends commercial awareness with procurement expertise in a fast-paced construction environment, with occasional UK site visits and a company car or allowance as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience in Estimating, Procurement, Commercial or Pre-Construction in the construction industry.
• Strong procurement and supplier management experience, including obtaining and evaluating quotations.
• Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to interpret technical and tender documentation.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work effectively to deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive cost estimates and tender submissions for construction and refurbishment projects.
• Review tender documentation to identify procurement requirements, subcontract packages and material specifications.
• Source pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, managing the tender enquiry process from issue through to evaluation.
• Assess and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value and commercial accuracy.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to support future tender opportunities.
• Produce accurate take-offs and first-principle costings where required.
• Identify pricing gaps and develop practical commercial solutions.
• Prepare tender qualifications, exclusions and supporting cost documentation.
• Assist with project programmes, preliminary costings and procurement planning.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure tender deadlines are achieved.
• Attend occasional site visits across the UK as part of the tender process.
