Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Recruitment Ltd in Lancashire is seeking an Estimator – Construction responsible for end-to-end tendering across new build and refurbishment projects, with oversight up to £20m (typical £8m). You will produce accurate cost estimates from drawings and specs and lead tender submissions.

The ideal candidate has estimating experience in construction, strong communication, and a proactive, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

Must have Estimating experience within the construction sector.
Experience from Tier-1 main contractor is advantageous.
Experience with new-build and refurbishment contracts.
Excellent communication skills across all levels, written and verbal.
Must be a great team player and a hard worker.
High levels of organisation and problem solving on site.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end tendering process, including take-offs, pricing, submission, and handover.
Prepare accurate cost estimates using drawings, specifications, and estimating software.
Manage and track tender opportunities with timely follow-ups.
Engage with clients and contractors through site visits and value engineering.
Collaborate with internal teams, mentor junior estimators, and support delivery.
Oversee projects up to £20m in value (typical £8m).
