Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking an Estimator – Construction to oversee a broad mix of industrial, commercial and civil projects in Lancashire. You will lead end-to-end tendering, prepare cost estimates from drawings, and manage tender opportunities to maximise conversions.

The role requires proven estimating experience in construction, strong communication, and teamwork. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies a salary of £55,000–£65,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Requires estimating experience within the construction sector.
• Experience from a Tier-1 or main contractor is advantageous.
• Experience handling a range of new-build and refurbishment contracts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and organisational abilities.
• Proficient with MS Office and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tendering process, including take-offs, pricing and submission.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
• Manage and track tender opportunities to maximise conversions.
• Engage with clients and contractors via site visits and value engineering.
• Collaborate with internal teams, lead handovers and mentor junior estimators.
• Oversee projects up to £20m in value (typical £8m).
