Construction Delay Analyst Intern

Job summary

Secretariat in London is seeking a seasoned construction delay specialist to join our Delay Team. You will review schedules, drawings, reports, and weather data to identify causes of cost and schedule overruns and help quantify delays on large projects.

You will work with engineers, schedulers and analysts to draft expert reports for arbitration, communicate complex findings clearly, and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced, globally connected practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• At least five years’ post-graduate work experience in engineering & construction, with experience in delay and programming expert witness services preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with planning software (MS Project, Asta Powerproject, Primavera) is an asset.
• Excellent written English and ability to communicate complex technical matters to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel (generally up to 15% of the time).
• Team-oriented with flexibility to work across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Research and fact-ffinding using schedules, drawings, reports and weather data.
• Data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and causes of cost and schedule overruns.
• Quantification of delays in large construction projects.
• Assistance with drafting expert reports for arbitration.
