Job summary

A leading engineering solutions company is seeking a qualified candidate for site control management in Reading, UK. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate subcontractor information, technical management, and maintaining client relationships. The ideal applicant will have an HNC or degree in Civil Engineering, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience with groundworks. Qualifications

Strong understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project.
Experience in subcontract management for groundworks, reinforced concrete and temporary works.
Driver’s license is essential.
Subcontract management in groundworks, RC and temporary works is required.
Experience with total station and GPS is preferred.

Responsibilities

Clearly communicate project details.
Quickly identify and resolve issues.
Manage site control and ensure accurate information for subcontractors.
Contribute to labor and material cost reports.
Compile Inspection & Test Plans and Reports.
Prepare Inspection & Test Plans and reports; manage non‑conformances.
Contribute to labour and material cost reporting.
Liaise with Commercial team on procurement and look‑ahead programmes.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments; ensure safety inspections.
Compile handover documentation on project closeout.

Job Description

Locations: Aldermaston United Kingdom, Reading RG7, United Kingdom. This position is available at multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Proficient communicator: clearly communicate project details.

Technical competence: strong understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project.
Client relationship management: build and maintain positive relationships.
Technical duties: management of site control & setting out; ensuring accurate information for subcontractors; managing subcontract packages of works; quality control of sub‑contractor works.
Design coordination: ensure models and drawings are accurate and constructible; raise any issues or requests for information with the Design team in a timely manner.
Quality assurance: compile Inspection & Test Plans and Reports; raise non‑conformances; compile as‑built drawings as construction progresses.
Site reporting: contribute to labour and material cost reports.
Procurement: liaise with Commercial team to ensure packages are procured in accordance with programme requirements; weekly/4‑weekly look‑ahead programmes; checking delivery of works against design.
Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Health & safety: complete site inspections.
Compiling handover documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering / Building.
CSCS.
Subcontract management experience in groundworks, reinforced concrete and temporary works.
Previous use of total station and GPS.
Thames Water Passport (desirable).
SMSTS (desirable).
Knowledge of CAD.
Driver’s licence (essential).
