Job summary

Interaction Engineering is seeking an experienced Arboricultural Consultant / Tree Surveyor to perform detailed tree surveys, produce technical reports, and advise on planning and construction projects with a focus on BS 5837 standards.

You will work with architects, engineers, developers and planning authorities to assess, protect and manage trees, using CAD/GIS tools to map RPAs, TCPs and TPPs. Relevant qualifications and 2+ years in commercial surveys are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent qualification.
• Two years' experience undertaking arboricultural surveys for commercial development projects.
• Experience producing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS), Tree Constraints Plans (TCP) and Tree Protection Plans (TPP).
• Competent in AutoCAD, KeyTREE, QGIS or equivalent CAD/GIS software.
• Strong practical knowledge of BS 5837:2012 and its application to construction and development projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Tree Surveys & Assessments on development sites.
• Prepare BS 5837 arboricultural reports and related documents (AIA, AMS).
• Create Tree Constraints Plans (TCP) and Tree Protection Plans (TPP) using CAD/GIS tools.
• Provide practical arboricultural advice to architects, engineers and developers; liaise with LPAs on TPOs and planning requirements.
• Conduct construction monitoring and site supervision to ensure tree protection measures are followed.
