Job summary

Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru is seeking a conservation professional to support the Sustainable Farming Scheme across Mid Wales. Based at the Welshpool Depot, you will work with landowners to develop management plans for protected sites and drive habitat restoration, delivering biodiversity outcomes across Powys.

The role involves fieldwork, partnership development and delivery, with travel across the region. A full UK driving licence is essential, and a hybrid working pattern will be agreed on

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of conservation and biodiversity.
• Current full UK driving licence.
• Welsh language level: B2 (essential).

Responsibilities

• Work with a wide range of internal and external customers including permit holders, landowners, businesses, public bodies, recreation groups, volunteers and third sector organisations to enable others to achieve SMNR.
• Establish, maintain and advise partners to support the development of partnership projects and plans through from concepts to implementation.
• Assess compliance with relevant legislation, permit or consent conditions and ensure timely return to compliance with appropriate enforcement where needed.
• Draft valid consents and assents for operations affecting protected sites and provide required reports and documentation.
• Provide professional local advice to consultations from planning and permitting teams and maintain regular liaison.
