Job summary

Wessex Water, Bath-based, is seeking an Assistant Conservation Adviser to join the Conservation team on a 14-month fixed-term contract. The role involves delivering conservation land management, advising the wider business on biodiversity commitments, and liaising with internal teams and external partners across the Wessex Water region.

You will schedule habitat works, oversee contractors, and support data collection, GIS mapping and document management.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in conservation, ecology or environmental sector.
• Biological Sciences or Environmental Management degree preferred but not essential depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver conservation land management and provide advice to support biodiversity commitments.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including volunteers and community groups.
• Schedule habitat management works; procure and oversee ecological contractors and consultants.
• Assist with data collation, GIS mapping and document management; undertake habitat surveys and monitoring.

Education

Biological Sciences / Environmental Management degree

Two years of relevant conservation/ecology/environmental experience
