Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is recruiting an Employment Specialist to connect residents with paid work, including those facing barriers, and to support long-term outcomes in the community.

You will manage a caseload, deliver tailored, face-to-face support and use proven models to help with job searching, applications and interviews while assisting those already employed at risk of losing work. Travel across the Borough is required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering specialist employment support in Connect to Work or similar.
• Proven ability to manage caseloads and support individuals into employment.
• Comfort conducting vocational assessments and creating personalised action plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist employment support through Connect to Work and other Council initiatives.
• Manage caseloads and help participants into employment.
• Conduct vocational assessments and create personalised action plans.
• Assist participants with job applications, CV writing, and interview preparation.
• Collaborate with employers to identify inclusive opportunities and advise on reasonable adjustments.
• Promote the place, train and maintain approach and advocate inclusive hiring.
• Maintain accurate records and track progress using digital caseload systems.
• Engage with stakeholders to generate referrals and raise awareness.
• Work with young people 18+ and those with complex needs.
• Build relationships with participants, employers, and partners.
• Be organised, proactive and able to work independently.
• Be competent with ICT systems and digital tools.
• Travel throughout the Borough to meet clients in community settings.
