Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to own configuration management across engineering programmes, ensuring effective change control, traceability and configuration integrity throughout the product lifecycle. Working with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams, you’ll combine hands-on configuration management with process governance and continuous improvement.

You will develop CM plans, manage baselines and BOMs in PLM systems, and mentor teams on CM best

Qualifications

• At least five years CM experience within complex engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence or another highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience developing and implementing CM plans and processes.
• Strong experience managing baselines, configuration items, product structures and bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Configuration Management plans and processes.
• Manage configuration items, product structures, bills of materials and baselines within PLM systems.
• Coordinate engineering changes through established change control processes and Change Control Boards.
• Maintain configuration traceability across hardware, software, systems and technical documentation.
• Produce configuration status reports and maintain accurate lifecycle records.
• Conduct configuration audits and support compliance with applicable standards and programme requirements.
• Provide CM guidance to internal teams and support customer and supplier configuration activities.
• Improve configuration management processes, tools and working practices.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams, you’ll combine hands-on configuration management with process governance and continuous improvement.

Skills and experience

• At least five years’ Configuration Management experience within complex engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence or another highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience developing and implementing CM plans and processes.
• Strong experience managing baselines, configuration items, product structures and bills of materials.
• Experience coordinating change control processes and Change Control Boards.
• Proficiency with PLM systems and configuration databases.
• A strong understanding of the five core CM disciplines: planning, identification, control, status accounting and auditing.
• Experience conducting configuration audits and supporting compliance activities, with working knowledge of ISO 10007.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, requirements and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage competing programme priorities.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.

Professional training or certification in Configuration Management would be advantageous, as would additional qualifications in quality, PLM or project management.
