Job summary

Amentum's Nuclear Power Programmes in the UK is expanding its team to support major projects across Europe, focusing on maintaining design configuration control, traceability and regulatory alignment. The Configuration Engineer will coordinate between engineering, design and stakeholders, oversee change control, ensure As-designed and As-built configurations stay aligned, and drive data-centric practices.

  • Engineering background and technical acumen.

  • Understanding of engineering requirements and quality processes.
  • Experience with process implementation and improvement.
  • Knowledge of configuration management principles.
  • Nuclear industry experience.
  • Knowledge of EPR or Nuclear Power Plant design.
  • Understanding of Nuclear Site Licence requirements, CDM Regulations, Nuclear construction quality arrangements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to track progress, manage priorities and escalate issues.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration Management & Change Control
  • Act as a primary point of contact for configuration management processes
  • Support Engineering Managers and Design Authorities on configuration-related matters
  • Coordinate configuration activities across multiple stakeholders
  • Manage Design Changes, Open Points, Technical Interfaces, Reference document changes
  • Ensure configuration management processes are correctly implemented across the project
  • Monitor and steer end-to-end configuration activities
  • Maintain configuration control during design handovers
  • Support compliance with nuclear industry standards and UK regulatory expectations
  • Develop and maintain data-centric approaches to configuration management
  • Analyse technical information and configuration records
  • Identify opportunities for process, system and procedural improvements

About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. Role Summary

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the nuclear power plant design remains properly controlled, traceable, and compliant throughout the project lifecycle. The Configuration Engineer acts as a key coordinator between engineering, design, and project stakeholders, helping to maintain alignment between the As-designed configuration (approved design documentation), As-built configuration (what is actually constructed on site)

Responsibilities:

  • Configuration Management & Change Control
