New Appointments Group is recruiting a Computing Lecturer for a temporary role in Broadstairs. The post involves delivering Level 2 Computing within a Further Education setting, teaching IT systems, programming, networking and cybersecurity, and supporting learners to achieve qualifications.

The role requires a relevant computing qualification and a recognised teaching qualification, with 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (Fridays until 4:30pm). DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and digital skills.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Level 2 Computing lessons.

  • Plan and prepare lessons to meet learner needs.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain learner records and assessment documentation.
  • Support learners to achieve qualifications and reach their potential.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
  • Contribute to the programme requirements, including planning, assessment and marking.

Job description

Computing Lecturer - Temporary

Location: Broadstairs

Contract: Temporary

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Computing Lecturer to join a Further Education setting on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Level 2 Computing, specifically the Gateway Level 2 Diploma in Digital and IT Skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable and engaging Computing professional to support learners in developing their technical and digital skills.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging and effective Level 2 Computing lessons.
  • Teach across areas of Computing and Digital Technologies, including IT systems, programming, networking, cybersecurity and digital skills.
  • Plan and prepare lessons to meet the needs of learners.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive and effective feedback.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and assessment documentation.
  • Support learners to achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider requirements of the programme, including planning, assessment and marking.
About You
  • Relevant knowledge and experience across Computing and Digital Technologies.
  • Previous experience delivering Computing in a Further Education or vocational setting.
  • Experience teaching and supporting learners at Level 2.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Good organisational and digital skills.
  • The ability to assess learner progress and provide effective feedback.
  • A relevant Computing qualification.
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
Working Hours
  • Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm

The working hours include dedicated time for lesson planning, assessment and marking.

The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
