Job summary

OxTS RD in Middleton Stoney, United Kingdom, seeks a Computer Vision Manager to lead a team delivering SLAM, perception and sensor‑fusion for real‑world navigation products.

You will stay technically engaged, guiding architecture, reviews, coaching and delivery while turning research ideas into reliable engineering software. This role blends computer vision, robotics and geospatial data with agile delivery and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related Degree or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of continuous professional development for both self and teams.
• Experience leading or technically managing software or algorithm teams.
• Strong background in computer vision, SLAM, robotics, mapping, perception and/or sensor‑fusion systems.
• Experience delivering production‑quality engineering software.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, code quality, testing and CI/CD.
• Ability to communicate technical direction clearly and coach engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, including career development planning.
• Champion professional growth and skills development.
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and high‑performing team culture.
• Provide technical direction across software design, architecture, and implementation.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding standards, version control, and DevOps.
• Guide technology selection and system integration.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of software projects using agile methodologies.
• Demonstrable experience delivering complex software or algorithm projects through structured engineering processes, ideally using agile methods and cross‑functional teams.
• Plan sprints, allocate resources, and manage workloads.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross‑functional teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks.
