ECM Selection in the United Kingdom is seeking a Computer Vision Physicist to lead the design of optical systems for machine vision, taking projects from concept through prototype to product release.
The role requires a PhD in applied optics (or equivalent industry experience), expertise in ray tracing, lens design, optical simulations, and image processing, with onsite work and security clearance. Experience with VIS/NIR/FIR bands and optical test benches is valued.
This expanding tech company is utilising AI within their core hardware products. This extends to the use of computer vision for monitoring and tracking. As their next Computer Vision Physicist, you’ll deliver projects from concept through design, prototype to product release.
Key responsibilities would involve the design of optical systems (lenses, mirrors, sensors) and optimising them for VIS, NIR and FIR application. This would include simulations (using OpticStudio or similar), component selection, prototype device testing and relevant process documentation.
The role is based fully onsite. Due to technologies having applications for military uses, this role is subject to the incumbent being security cleared (British national residing in the UK for the past 5 years).
This is a timely opportunity to join this growing company early in their journey, and take ownership of significant technology development projects they are working on.
