Job summary

ECM Selection is seeking a Computer Vision Physicist to design optical systems and drive end-to-end projects for AI hardware products. You will create and validate optical designs for VIS/NIR/FIR applications, using simulations and testing to ensure robust performance.

The role requires onsite work in the UK and eligibility for security clearance due to military applications. Applicants should hold a physics or electronics degree with a PhD in applied optics and have demonstrable optical design,

Qualifications

Degree in Physics or Electronics; PhD in applied optics preferred but equivalent industry experience considered.
Demonstrable experience with optical systems for machine vision; lasers desirable.
Strong understanding of ray tracing, lens design, optical simulations, image processing, electro-optical systems and opto-mechanics.
Experience with optical test methodology and validation.

Responsibilities

Design optical systems (lenses, mirrors, sensors) and optimize for VIS/NIR/FIR applications.
Perform simulations (OpticStudio or similar), select components, test prototype devices and document processes.
Deliver projects from concept through design, prototype to product release.
