Job summary

Justteachers is partnering with a supportive secondary school in Doncaster to recruit a Computing Teacher starting in September 2026. This is a full-time role until December 2026, with a potential permanent appointment from January 2027.

You will deliver engaging lessons on algorithms, Python programming and GCSE computing, creating an inclusive classroom that builds digital confidence and examination readiness.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
• Degree in Computer Science, Computing, or closely related subject
• Strong understanding of the UK Computing curriculum, particularly at GCSE level
• Solid programming knowledge, especially Python, with familiarity of other languages/tools

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons focused on computing concepts, algorithms, computational thinking and problem-solving
• Teach programming with Python as the primary language, exposing students to Java, HTML and CSS
• Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment that fosters independence and digital confidence
• Support students in assessments and examinations, inspiring interest in computing and emerging tech

About the role:

Justteachers is working in partnership with a supportive and innovative secondary school in Doncaster to recruit a talented Computing Teacher, starting in September 2026. This is a full-time role until December 2026, with the possibility of joining the school on a permanent basis from January 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons focused on key computing concepts, including algorithms, computational thinking, and logical problem-solving
• Teach programming, with a primary focus on Python, while exposing students to additional languages and technologies such as Java, HTML, and CSS
• Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence, creativity, and digital confidence
• Support students in preparing for assessments and examinations, while inspiring interest in computing and emerging technologies

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
