Role Overview

A dynamic, full-time Computer Science and IT Teacher is required for a September start. This position involves delivering high-quality, inspiring computing and information technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications (OCR, AQA, or Edexcel).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, broad-based Computer Science and IT lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
  • Teach core programming concepts (such as Python), computer architecture, data structures, and network safety.
  • Assess, record, and report on the progress, attainment, and development of all assigned students.
  • Prepare Key Stage 4 pupils thoroughly for GCSE Computer Science and vocational IT examinations.
  • Establish clear classroom routines to maintain high standards of discipline, focus, and mutual respect.
  • Differentiate learning materials to cater to students of varying abilities, including high-attainers and SEND pupils.
  • Contribute to the ongoing design and enrichment of the secondary computing curriculum.
  • Integrate character education and leadership values into day-to-day teaching activities.
  • Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and whole-school professional development (CPD).
  • Uphold strict safeguarding, child protection, and online safety policies across all educational activities.
