You will lead engaging theory and practical lessons, demonstrate programming (Python/Java/C#), assess students, and support progression to A-Levels while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Proven track record delivering CS/ICT up to KS5 (A-Level) in UK secondary or FE setting.
• Clear communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to all abilities.
• Effective classroom management with high expectations.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one through Randstad).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact CS/ICT lessons across KS3, KS4 (GCSE), and KS5 (A-Level).
• Own full curriculum planning, demonstrate programming (Python/Java/C#), assess pupils, and prepare for exams.
• Support Sixth Form progression through algorithms, system architecture, OOP, and coursework.
• Maintain a focused, supportive lab environment with well-maintained equipment.
• Collaborate to refine schemes of work across key stages and support coding/cyber clubs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Impact Lessons: As an impactful Computer Science / ICT Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging theory and practical lessons across KS3, KS4 (GCSE), and KS5 (A-Level).

• Full Curriculum Ownership: Take full responsibility for class preparation, advanced programming demonstrations (such as Python, Java, or C#), ongoing pupil assessment, and exam preparation.

• Support Sixth Form Progression: Guide A-Level Computer Science students through complex algorithms, system architecture, object-oriented programming, and project coursework.

• Positive Learning Environment: Maintain a focused, supportive lab environment where equipment is respected and pupils feel confident solving complex technical problems.

• Departmental Contribution: Collaborate with colleagues to refine schemes of work across all key stages and support extra-curricular coding, robotics, or cybersecurity clubs.

Candidate Profile

We are searching for an approachable, highly skilled Computer Science / ICT Teacher with strong technical expertise and confident classroom leadership across all key stages.

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.

• Proven track record of working as a Computer Science / ICT Teacher delivering up to KS5 (A-Level) within a UK secondary or FE setting.

• Clear communication skills with the ability to explain complex computational concepts clearly to students of all ability levels.

• Effective classroom management strategies grounded in positive encouragement and high expectations.

• Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one immediately through Randstad).
