Job summary

Igloo Ltd in Chipping Warden is seeking Compound Drivers to join a busy automotive logistics operation. You will move vehicles safely around a large compound, park them in bays and shuttle them between workshops.

The role covers handling a wide range of vehicles, from family cars to high-performance models, and requires driving manual, automatic, and semi-automatic transmissions. You will perform basic pre-move inspections and report any damage, outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
• Experience handling both manual and automatic transmissions.
• Previous vehicle compound/driver experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Move vehicles safely around a large compound.
• Park vehicles in designated bays and shuttle them between workshops.
• Handle a range of vehicles from family cars to high-performance models.

We are currently recruiting Compound Drivers to join our team in Chipping Warden. Successful candidates will be working on behalf of one of the UK's leading companies in the automotive and logistics sector. This is a great opportunity for reliable drivers to work with a variety of vehicles in a busy, professional environment.

The Role:

As a Compound Driver, your main responsibilities will include:

• Moving vehicles safely around a large compound
• Parking vehicles in designated bays and moving them in and out of workshops
• Handling a range of vehicles - from everyday family cars to high-performance vehicles
• Driving different transmission types, including manual, automatic, and semi-automatic
• Conducting basic visual inspections before moving vehicles and reporting any damage
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions, wearing vehicle-safe clothing and safety boots

The Person:

• Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points for minor offences)
• Confident driving a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes
• Experience with both manual and automatic transmissions is essential
• Previous professional driving or vehicle compound experience is desirable
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail
• A reliable team player with a professional, can-do attitude
