Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd in Ampthill is seeking a Composites Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent role based in Ampthill. You will work with a market-leading Defence and Aerospace client to apply advanced composites processing knowledge to winding, layups and resin infusion, helping to optimise cost and yield.

The role requires hands-on experience with carbon fibre and silica, assembly and bonding, bagging and curing techniques, and familiarity with CAD drawings and SAP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of composite processing including winding, layups, and resin infusions.
• Experience with carbon fibre and silica materials.
• Experience in assembly and bonding techniques.
• Knowledge of bagging and curing methods in composites.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma and quality tools.
• Experience using CAD to generate 2D drawings.
• Strong understanding of MRP, BOMs and SAP or equivalent ERP.

As the Composites Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Focused on the involvement through the full product lifecycle, with the aim to reduce manufacturing costs and improve yield at all stages, which will directly impact customers, whilst supporting the Programme in delivery of the milestones
• Recognised as the point of contact for all matters related to your area of expertise, providing engineering advice, problem-solving, and coordination of activities in support of current and future business
• Drive a proactive approach to right first time quality to promote growth

Your skillset & experience:

• Detailed Composites Processing knowledge (winding, composite layups, resin infusions)
• Experience working with a variety of composite materials, including carbon fibre and silica
• Experience with assembly and bonding techniques
• Knowledge of different composite bagging and curing techniques
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality improvement tools
• Experience with CAD software for generating 2D technical drawings
• Solid understanding of MRP systems and experience managing BOMs and routings in SAP (or similar ERP systems)
