Matchtech is seeking an experienced Composites Engineer for a permanent role in Gosport. The position focuses on verification and validation of composite components, from coupon tests to large assemblies, including bonded and bolted joints and interfaces with metalwork.

Job description

Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Composites Engineer to join their team in Gosport. This permanent role will focus on the verification and validation of composite structural and non-structural components, ranging from coupon testing to large assemblies. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of bonded and bolted composite joints and the design of composite to metalwork interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilise skills and knowledge to enhance capabilities in your area of expertise while mentoring others within the engineering and technical communities
Apply composites subject matter expertise and sound engineering judgement to problem-solving
Break down complex tasks and execute planned schedules
Provide validation and verification justification statements
Deliver technical presentations and discuss work in external forums, including conferences and customer meetings

Job Requirements:

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Strong background in verification and validation
Understanding of composites and structural assessment, with a preference for maritime structures

Essential Qualifications:

BEng / MEng in Naval Architecture, Materials Engineering, or Mechanical/Structural Engineering, or equivalent knowledge from previous experience
