Job summary

Morson Group, in partnership with Safran, is recruiting a Composite Manufacturing Engineer for the Burnley site. You will define manufacturing processes, ensure consistency with specifications, and design processes using a Takt/Flow philosophy while considering ergonomic risks.

You will create and validate SOPs, work instructions, quality controls, routes, BOMS and layouts, and provide technical guidance to suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience defining manufacturing processes for industrialisation.
• Proven DMAIC problem solving experience.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes used on site.
• Ability to deliver projects with cost and timing constraints.
• Promoter of product and process integrity.
• Autonomous when supporting industrialisation processes.

Responsibilities

• Define manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with One Safran standards.
• Design processes with a Takt/Flow philosophy and ergonomic considerations.
• Create and validate SOPs, work instructions, QC points and inspection methods.
• Create routes, BOMs, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets and production drawings.
• Ensure processes meet targets for quality, cost and delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to internal and external suppliers.
• Plan and coordinate activities for industrial product validation.
• Manage stakeholder relationships within programmes including HSE and digitalisation.
• Represent manufacturing engineering with the customer alongside the Industrial Programme Manager.
• Develop global process concepts and assist in plant/equipment selection and factory layouts.
• Manage engineering risk via PFMEA and SPC to ensure repeatability.
