Job summary

Alpine Racing UK is seeking a Composites Design Student for a 1-year placement in Enstone. You will assist in designing and developing carbon fibre components, from concept through manufacturing release, under the guidance of experienced design engineers.

Responsibilities include CAD modelling, laminate schedules, ply definitions, and documentation for tooling. You will collaborate with manufacturing, structural analysis and vehicle integration teams to ensure feasible, performant designs.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year.
• Strong understanding of composite materials and mechanical design principles.
• Experience with CAD software and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes and design for manufacture.
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
• Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided.
• Be available to attend onsite assessment in September.

The Role

During the placement, you’ll support the design and development of composite components, from concept through to manufacturing release. You’ll work closely with experienced design engineers, contributing to CAD modelling, laminate definition, tooling design, and documentation processes that ensure performance, manufacturability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

Who We’re Looking For

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and looking for an industry placement as your penultimate year of university
• Strong understanding of composite materials and mechanical design principles
• Experience with CAD software
• Familiarity with composite manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
• You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
