Job summary

Motorsport Network, LLC is seeking a Composite Design Engineer to lead design schemes and detailing for advanced composite components. The role focuses on innovative, lightweight designs and close collaboration with manufacturing and testing teams.

Ideal candidates bring a degree in composite engineering, strong Catia V5 skills, and experience with laminate specifications. The position suits engineer to senior engineer levels with tailored responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a composite engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings of complex assemblies.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills, Catia V5 surfacing and solid modelling.
  • Understanding of composite manufacturing and pre-preg technologies.
  • Experience in an F1 environment (desirable).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver results to tight deadlines.

  • Create design schemes from initial concept for components, assemblies, jigs, patterns and tooling.
  • Surface components and prepare laminate specification booklets.
  • Provide follow-up support during assembly, testing and development stages.
  • Develop practical solutions to issues uncovered during testing and development.
  • Contribute proactively to the development and improvement of design concepts.
  • Participate in meetings, collaborate across departments and support professional engineering workflows.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of composite design and industry standards.

Job description

An exciting opportunity exists to join our Engineering team as a Composite Design Engineer. You will be a key member of our Composite Design group responsible for the scheme, design, testing and development stages of varied composite components.

This opportunity will suit an experienced engineer with an innovative approach to design and strong knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques.

*Please note: we are open to a range of skilled candidates at both Engineer and Senior Engineer level.We will tailor the role and responsibilities to match your experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Composite Design Engineer, you will be involved in a variety of exciting and technically challenging projects. You will:

  • Create design schemes from initial concept for components, assemblies, jigs, patterns and tooling.
