Job summary

Believe Housing Limited is seeking two Compliance Project Surveyors to join our team in the UK on a permanent and a four-year fixed-term contract. The role supports cyclical compliance and capital investment works, with a mix of offsite and onsite duties as required.

You will monitor delivery, manage contractors, provide progress updates to stakeholders, ensure safe site practices, and help deliver value for money.

• Monitor the day-to-day delivery of construction work including major investment projects, cyclical works and special projects; rectify issues with the contractor where applicable
• Provide regular updates on progress, cost and risk to stakeholders during delivery
• Attend pre-contract, progress and related meetings; manage external contractors and ensure safe site practices
• Highlight shortfalls in specification or design; oversee contract orders and variations in writing
• Collect property information in line with survey demands; perform ad-hoc surveys as required
• Book and schedule visits and respond to requests promptly

Although this role is advertised as full‑time, we will consider part‑time, job share and alternative working pattern proposals where possible.

Where and when you work is flexible depending on the demands of your role, our customers’ needs and your individual work preference (as agreed with your manager).

Our offices are based in Seaham and Bishop Auckland and although we work flexibly, it is envisaged that this role will require both an offsite and onsite presence as per business need when required.

About the role

As Compliance Project Surveyor, you will deliver an excellent experience for customers through the successful delivery of cyclical compliance and capital investment works contracts for believe housing.

You will be responsible for the delivery of all construction related work in these areas ensuring that day to day, contractors and suppliers are effectively managed and are delivering a customer centric, value for money service.

The successful candidate will:

• Monitor the day-to-day operational delivery of all construction work projects for your area of responsibility, including major investment projects, cyclical works and any special projects. Ensuring any issues are rectified with the appointed contractor where applicable
• provide regular updates on progress, cost and risk during delivery of all schemes and provide timely progress updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders as may be required during delivery
• attend pre-contract, progress and other related meetings on behalf of the organisation and manage external contractors ensuring that safe site working practices are always maintained
• bring to the attention of the Compliance Project Manager any shortfall in specification or design and oversee the management of contract orders within your area of responsibility, including overseeing and authorising any variations to the contract and ensuring these are issued in writing
• responsible for collecting property information in line with survey demands, including ad-hoc surveys in line with programme requirements and operating plans
• book and schedule visits and respond to requests in a timely manner
