What You'll Do

What you get up to day-to-day will vary, but here's an idea of what you can expect over the first few months:

Customer outcome reporting & oversight - Manage regulatory and customer outcome reporting for our Board, underwriters and the FCA, taking ownership of recommendations and actions and seeing them through to completion.
Support product innovation - Collaborate with distribution partners, underwriters and the wider team to launch innovative new products and experiences within the regulatory environment we operate in.
Ensure regulatory alignment - Oversee adherence to insurance product terms and underwriting agreements.
Scale governance frameworks - Drive Open's compliance and insurance governance strategies, processes and controls, working closely with our Risk and Compliance advisors.
Maintain compliance excellence - Keep our internal compliance documentation up to date, oversee compliance training, and proactively navigate regulatory changes.

Requirements

To succeed, you'll need:

3-5 years of 1st-line compliance or other relevant experience in the financial services sector, ideally in insurance;
a strong understanding of the FCA Handbook and Consumer Duty;
experience in a fast-growth start-up or scale-up will be beneficial;
the ability to create plans, prioritise and then roll up your sleeves and get things done;
a "no excuses" attitude to delivering great experiences for our customers and our partners and taking ownership when you see a problem that needs fixing;
excitement to learn new things and challenge yourself when faced with complex problems;
to be very organised and able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced scale-up environment;
strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills;
proven ability to work effectively with data, ideally with modern data tools like Snowflake; and
the ability to build and manage relationships with other Open teams and external partners.
