Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated, competent, qualified, and skilled Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) with a successful track record to join our team. The role involves ensuring continued fire safety compliance by managing service providers and driving strategic oversight of fire safety across our estate.

Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) will be the nominated Responsible Person for fire safety, overseeing the Fire Risk Management service and ensuring property compliance with legislative standards, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

You will manage risk assessments, develop fire safety policies, ensure legal compliance, collaborate with teams, and oversee maintenance programs to maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fire safety compliance programs across all sites.
  • Review and maintain fire risk assessments and audits.
  • Develop and implement fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Coordinate with fire authorities, insurers, and auditors.
  • Provide fire safety training and advice to staff.
  • Investigate fire incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on fire safety laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and facilities teams for effective service delivery.
  • Chair fire-related meetings and facilitate communication.
  • Provide leadership in fire compliance and risk management.
  • Build relationships for knowledge sharing and training on fire safety.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proven experience in fire safety management across multiple sites (minimum 3 years), ideally in local authority or educational settings.
  • Relevant fire management and compliance qualifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE certifications, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and emergency services is advantageous.
  • Ability to develop risk management strategies.
