Job summary

LCP, an actuarial and analytics consultancy, is hiring a Compliance Manager in London with hybrid working. You will support the Head of Compliance and the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer to operate the compliance function effectively, delivering monitoring, regulatory change, financial crime prevention, reporting and advisory work.

This developmental role offers mentoring, exposure to investment-related compliance, and opportunities to work with external regulators.

Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting new opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join our Risk & Compliance team in London.

What's the role?

LCP is an authorised professional firm, licensed by the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries for investment business and insurance mediation and authorised and regulated by the FCA for insurance mediation. You will support the Head of Compliance and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in the effective day-to-day operation of LCP's Compliance function. The role will deliver a broad range of compliance activity, including monitoring, regulatory change, financial crime prevention, reporting and investment-related compliance matters. The role holder will undertake research and analysis, prepare high-quality drafts of advice and other materials, and support presentations and engagement with the business, working with an appropriate level of supervision and senior review, escalating complex, sensitive or higher-risk matters as needed.

This is a developmental role for a compliance professional seeking to broaden their expertise and take on increasing responsibility over time. While there are no formal direct reports, the role will provide day-to-day guidance and support to Compliance Associates and other less experienced members of the team where appropriate. You will receive support and mentoring from senior members of the team, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge, judgement, stakeholder confidence. Key Responsibilities:

Policy and p rocedure s:

• Assisting the Head of Compliance with the implementation , ongoing review and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures and systems to ensure they are, and remain , fit for purpose

Regulatory change:

• Monitoring for regulatory change, including FCA and IFoA websites, HMT and external regulatory newsletters to assess impact of future changes

• Supporting CRCO and Head of Compliance in designing and implementing policies and procedures for any new requirements

Monitoring:

• Deliver day-to-day monitoring activity in accordance with the compliance monitoring programme

• Plan and undertake allocated thematic, business- area and follow-up reviews, documenting work performed, findings and recommended actions

• Maintain complete and up-to-date monitoring records, including evidence of the timely completion of agreed remedial actions

• Coordinate and review monitoring activity undertaken by Compliance Associates where appropriate , providing day-to-day support and constructive feedback

• Escalate significant findings, overdue actions and emerging risks to the Head of Compliance

Advisory:

• Support the Head of Compliance and senior colleagues in responding to day-to-day compliance queries
• Undertake research and analysis and prepares clear, high-quality first drafts of advice, guidance and other materials for review and sign-off by senior members of the Compliance team

• Build and maintain a practical understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and knows when matters should be escalated

Investment-related compliance:

• Support the Head of Compliance and senior colleagues on investment-related compliance matters, including regulatory research, monitoring, documentation and the preparation of draft advice and communications

• Develop and maintain an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to LCP's investment-related activities, escalating matters where appropriate

Financial Crime Prevention:

• Support the delivery of LCP's financial crime prevention controls, including reviewing customer due- diligence and AML documentation , and ensuring initial and ongoing sanctions screening is undertaken. Assists with financial-crime queries from the business, escalating complex, higher- risk or sensitive matters to the Head of Compliance or other senior colleagues

Reporting:

• Assist the Head of Compliance with the drafting and p repar ation of reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate

• Maintain a clear and appropriate audit trail for the figures, data and supporting evidence used in reporting

External r elations:

• Support the Head of Compliance , as required , in managing relationships with external bodies , including the IFoA , FCA, external auditors and other regulators

Essential experience and skills requirements:

• Relevant compliance, regulatory or financial-services experience, with a number of years experience, depending on relevance and breadth of the experience
• Experience of compliance monitoring, internal reviews, controls testing, regulatory research or reporting
• Ability to analyse regulatory requirements and produce clear, well-structured written work
• Sound judgement, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to identify when issues need escalating
• Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues across different business areas
• Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload, deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines, and maintain clear records and audit trails

Desirable experience and knowledge:

• Experience of investment-related compliance (asset management and/or institutional investment advice), investment-business regulation or regulated professional-services environments
• Exposure to financial crime prevention, including AML, sanctions and/or related controls
• Awareness of FCA and IFoA regulatory requirements
• Experience reviewing financial promotions, websites, client communications or marketing materials
