Job summary

LCP, an award-winning actuarial and analytics consultancy, is seeking a C# Developer to join the Insurance Analytics team in London. You will contribute to InsurSight, our leading insurance analytics platform, focusing on C# development and collaboration with actuaries and data scientists.

Under the guidance of senior developers, you will own pieces of work, help deliver scalable, tested software, and explore Azure services while leveraging Python where helpful.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C# development and .NET 6/8.
  • Experience with Azure PaaS/SaaS and related services.
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles (unit testing, SOLID).
  • Interest in bridging tech and actuarial analytics for impactful solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance InsurSight features with a C# focus.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, analytics specialists and other developers.
  • Implement tests and refactor for maintainability and scalability.

We're looking for a C# Developer to join our Insurance Analytics team, playing a crucial role in advancing LCP InsurSight , our leading insurance analytics platform. InsurSight has been used to assess over £150bn of non-life insurance business since launch in April 2020 and we are expanding the team to help us to support our expanding client base whilst delivering our exciting plans to develop the platform further . Y ou will have the benefit of the guidance of our lead C# developer, but also the opportunity to take ownership of your work and to work closely with our wider team of data scientists, actuaries and industry specialists. Overall, the role offers an exciting blend of technical development and industry application, providing a fertile ground for professional growth in a multidisciplinary environment.

What will you be doing?

Engage in the iterative enhancement and feature development of LCP InsurSight , aligning with the strategic vision of the Insurance Analytics team and responding to evolving client needs

P rimary focus on C# with supplementary involvement in other languages ( eg Python) , under the guidance of senior developers

Collaborate across disciplines, interfacing with actuaries, analytics specialists, and developers to integrate comprehensive analytics into software solutions, enriching the platform's value proposition

Advocate and implement industry-standard software development practices, championing code quality, maintainability, and robust testing methodologies to ensure the reliability and scalability of our solutions

Participate in the research, evaluation, and prototyping of emerging technologies and methods, contributing to the team's innovation and continuous improvement ethos

Facilitate the dissemination of technical knowledge within the team, aiding in the development of a learning-oriented culture that values curiosity and professional growth

What skills and experience are we looking for?

Demonstrable proficiency in C# development ( .NET 6 / 8)

Practical knowledge of or eagerness to learn Azure PaaS/SaaS offerings (Azure Functions, App Services, Table/Queue/Blob Storage) , ASP.NET WebAPI , and database technologies ( CosmosDB )

Demonstrable knowledge of software engineering principles such as unit testing , change management control and SOLID principles

Exposure to or keen interest in the non-life insurance analytics domain, with a willingness to bridge technology and actuarial science to deliver impactful solutions

Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborating constructively within cross-functional teams

A problem-solving mindset, proactive in identifying and addressing challenges, with a commitment to excellence and a penchant for continuous learning

Familiarity with Agile development processes, emphasizing adaptability, collaboration, and a customer-centric approach to software development

Experience in Python development is beneficial but not essential
