Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Compliance & Governance Manager for a site-based Bristol role, with commutable towns nearby. You will own audit readiness, safety and regulatory compliance within a specialist engineering environment and have the authority to challenge processes and drive improvement.

You will govern Type Approval and Conformity of Production, ISO/QMS and H&S frameworks, lead internal audits and CAPA/NCR processes, and work cross-functionally with Engineering,

Qualifications

• Compliance/quality/H&S/regulatory experience in engineering, manufacturing or automotive.
• Type Approval / CoP exposure (VCA or equivalent) desirable.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) minimum.

Responsibilities

• Own Type Approval & Conformity of Production governance, registers and evidence
• Lead the Health & Safety management system (risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR)
• Manage ISO 9001/QMS and internal audit programme, document control and management reviews
• Run CAPA / NCR governance, ensuring actions are owned, closed and verified
• Site-based in Bristol with travel to suppliers, customers, regulators and external audits

Compliance & Governance Manager

Bristol (Commutable from: Bath, Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Clevedon, Keynsham, Filton, Yate, Thornbury)

Are you a Compliance Manager, Quality Manager, Governance Manager or similar and looking for a high-impact, site-based role where you can take full ownership of audit readiness, safety and regulatory compliance within a specialist engineering environment?

On offer is the chance to join an established UK engineering business where you will be the go-to person for compliance and governance, with the authority to challenge processes, drive continuous improvement and hold work or vehicle release where there is a credible safety, legal or regulatory concern.

In this role you will own the compliance framework across vehicle Type Approval and Conformity of Production, Health & Safety, ISO/QMS and wider statutory obligations, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Facilities to ensure risks are controlled, evidenced and closed.

You will lead internal audits, manage CAPA / NCR governance, maintain statutory registers and ensure robust document and change control so regulatory and safety impacts are assessed before release.

This role would suit someone with compliance / quality / H&S experience in an engineering or manufacturing setting, looking for real autonomy, technical variety and long-term stability.

The Role:
