We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Compliance & Control, Markets EMEA - Senior Vice President to join our Markets Compliance team. This position is based in Queen Victoria Street, London, reporting to the Co-Heads of EMEA Markets, Corporate Treasury, and CCM Compliance.

In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

  1. Ensuring Markets meets the group’s corporate and strategic requirements, aligning with the Bank of New York’s standards.
  2. Managing the efficiency, effectiveness, and control of your areas of responsibility, including responsibilities, segregation of duties, and conflict of interest controls.
  3. Collaborating with business lines and partner functions to review regulatory changes and participating in relevant working groups as the Compliance Specialist for Markets.
  4. Coordinating with the broader EMEA Compliance team to deliver services effectively and communicate relevant observations.
  5. Engaging with Markets’ regional offices in the US and APAC to ensure compliance consistency.
  6. Documenting and escalating compliance issues impacting Markets according to group and local processes.
  7. Representing the Markets Compliance function and providing challenge at internal and external meetings as needed.
  8. Contributing to projects and programs aimed at improving compliance and the control environment.

To succeed, you should have:

  1. Preferably a degree and/or relevant industry qualifications.
  2. Experience in wholesale markets compliance, especially equities, fixed income, money market funds, FX, etc.
  3. Experience working within a global organization’s compliance function.
  4. Strong communication skills tailored to different audiences.
  5. In-depth knowledge of FCA, MiFID, MIFIR, EMIR, and MAR regulations.
  6. Awareness of US FINRA broker-dealer requirements.
