Job description

Location: Huntingdon (onsite only)

Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on experience

A supplier of high-quality metals and materials, our client specialises in the research and development sectors with a strong focus on science and industry. Their technical teams have worked on materials that have contributed to scientific breakthroughs in nuclear fusion, the fight against COVID-19, and have been used in probes that have travelled through space as far as Saturn.

Established in London in 1946, the company now supplies materials globally and holds offices in the UK, France, Germany, USA, and China. Today, backed by the prestigious Private Equity firm Battery Ventures, the company is on an exciting trajectory with a strong mergers and acquisitions strategy and ambitious growth targets.

The Role

You will provide timely and accurate regulatory and industry advice to the business, along with regular risk reporting and compliance monitoring over key controls and risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Delivery of monthly and quarterly compliance reports to the business.
  2. Update and manage REACH/RoHS/Conflict Mineral and other relevant product compliance data to ensure maximum data availability and clear communication both internally and externally.
  3. Monitor, investigate, and report on product compliance and regulatory requirements impacting business activities. Devise plans to address any obstacles arising from these requirements.
  4. Communicate changes in product compliance policies and procedures across the business.
  5. Manage and lead internal audits and support external audits.
  6. Participate in internal training for other departments across multiple jurisdictions.
  7. Document trade and Customs procedures for integration into the Quality system.
  8. Support the Compliance Manager in collating accurate information for regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
  9. Implement reporting and other compliance obligations.
Key Requirements
  1. Lead compliance monitoring activities, including customer journey reviews and risk/control assessments.
  2. Prioritise departmental workloads to meet business deadlines.
  3. Maintain motivation and encourage team performance.
  4. Take ownership of tasks and issues, addressing or delegating as appropriate.
  5. Achieve departmental targets and goals.
  6. Report on departmental KPIs.
