Job summary

Responsibilities

• Own the compliance monitoring programme, business risk assessments and policy suite.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including onboarding, transaction monitoring, reconciliations and third party oversight.
• Prepare and present reporting to boards and senior management.
• Manage relationships with regulators including notifications, returns and correspondence.
• Support governance, committee and company secretarial administration.
• Collaborate with advisers on regulatory change and licence/product applications.

Job description

A group of regulated financial services businesses operating across Jersey, the UK and the EU is looking for a Compliance and Operations Manager to strengthen its second line and take day to day ownership of regulatory and operational matters across the group.

The group spans investment services and payments, with entities regulated in multiple jurisdictions. This is a broad role for someone who wants exposure across the full regulatory picture rather than a narrow specialism.

What you'll do

• Provide compliance oversight across group entities, including AML/CFT monitoring, reporting and escalation
• Own the compliance monitoring programme, business risk assessments and policy suite
• Oversee day to day operations, including onboarding, transaction monitoring, reconciliations and oversight of third party providers
• Prepare and present reporting to boards and senior management
• Manage relationships with regulators, including notifications, returns and correspondence
• Support governance, committee and company secretarial administration
• Work with the group's advisers on regulatory change and new licence or product applications

What we're looking for

• Compliance experience in a regulated firm in one or more of Jersey, the UK or the EU
• Familiarity with either investment services or payments regulation, and an interest in the other. Experience of both is a strong advantage
• Practical knowledge of AML/CFT requirements and how they translate into day to day controls
• A relevant qualification (ICA, ACAMS or equivalent), or the appetite to complete one
• Eligibility to be approved by a regulator in a compliance oversight role, or a credible path to it
• Comfortable working in a small team across time zones, without a large support function

Location

The role can be based in Jersey, London or Warsaw. Remote or hybrid arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. Some travel between offices should be expected.
