Job summary

MoD - Navy Command is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a 6-month contract, focused on Complex Weapons and Inside IR35. The role is hybrid, with two days per week onsite at Abbey Wood, Bristol, and involves coordinating acquisition planning, governance, and delivery reporting across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Experience of operations management in a project, programme, engineering, logistics, support or defence-related environment.
• Experience supporting MOD approvals, public-sector approvals or equivalent governance and assurance activity.
• Experience supporting the development of business case, procurement, requirements or contract documentation.
• Experience managing actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, schedules and management information in a project or programme environment.
• Experience with MOD systems such as NAWDAS and MJDI.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of acquisition strategies aligned with Category A Approval requirements, project objectives and wider programme outcomes.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, requirements, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies and operational priorities.
• Support the WH2 team and Torps ISS Operations Managers in planning, coordinating and monitoring activity across Heavyweight and Lightweight support workstreams.
• Support the Complex Weapons Control Account Managers in managing contract outputs, supplier performance, delivery milestones, financial information and supporting evidence.
• Assist in the drafting, review and coordination of System Requirements, Statements of Requirement, Invitations to Negotiate, Outline Business Cases and Full Business Cases.
• Support the preparation, assurance and submission of documentation required for Category A Approval and related MOD governance activity.
