Job summary

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Clydebank, Scotland, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Complex Orthopedics ward. You will provide high-quality, patient-centred care from admission to discharge within a multidisciplinary team, in a 36-hour-per-week permanent post.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care, uphold NMC standards, mentor junior staff and contribute to audits and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standard, evidence-based nursing care in line with NMC and NHS Scotland standards.
• Organise and prioritise workload to meet the needs of patients effectively.
• Work within legal, ethical and professional frameworks, promoting patient safety and wellbeing.
• Support junior staff and students, contributing to mentorship and professional development programmes.
• Use sound clinical judgement in assessing patient conditions and responding appropriately.
• Participate in audit, research, clinical governance and service improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality and data protection.
• Contribute to smooth departmental running, including taking charge in absence of the Senior Charge Nurse.
• Use specialised and generic clinical equipment safely and competently (e.g. ECG, IV pumps, bladder scanners).
