Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs and PMLD in Wakefield. The role runs full-time during term-time with hours 08:30–15:30, offering a rewarding environment to promote dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion.

You will work closely with a dedicated team, providing 1:1 and small-group support, assist with personal care, and use communication tools like Makaton/PECS to aid learning.

Qualifications

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
• Assist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, including moving and handling (training provided).
• Support sensory-based learning and communication, using tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.
• Work with teachers, therapists, and care staff to implement Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Create a calm, supportive, and structured environment that encourages engagement, comfort, and emotional wellbeing.

Rate of Pay: £95.00 - £110.00 per day

To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
