Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs across primary settings in Manchester and surrounding areas. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning, and following individual plans with teachers and SENCOs.

Ideal candidates have recent UK primary school experience, a calm, patient approach, and the ability to build positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Recent experience in a UK primary school.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex needs.
• Support pupils with ASD, communication needs, sensory needs and learning difficulties.
• Help pupils access classroom learning and differentiated activities.
• Support personal care where required.
• Follow individual support plans and guidance from the school.
• Support emotional regulation, routines and transitions.
• Encourage independence, engagement and social development.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
