Job summary

TRFS in Bellshill is seeking a Complex Needs Practitioner Level 1 to join our team on a full-time equivalent of 25 hours per week. The role requires a calm, empathetic approach, support with daily living, meals, medications, appointments, finances and personal care.

You will assist individuals with communication needs using various tools, provide emotional support and work both in a team and independently. Driving/own car access is required and a PVG check will be needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living tasks including meal preparation and personal care.
• Assist with appointments, finances and moving/stationary activities as needed.
• Provide emotional support and help maintain relationships with family and friends.
• Support individuals with complex communication needs using different tools.
• Follow CALM techniques to ensure safety when needed.

We are on the lookout for an experienced individual with a calm and understanding nature to join our team in Bellshill as a Complex Needs Practitioner Level 1 on a full-time, permanent basis (25 hours per week).

The Role

Due to the nature of the role we are only able to consider female applicants that drive with access to their own car.

As a Complex Needs Practitioner, you will be part of a dedicated and friendly team, supporting individuals with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. You’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends. Some individuals have complex communication needs and use different communication tools to meet their needs.

In our service we may use CALM which are physical intervention and escape techniques to ensure the safety of supported individuals, colleagues, and members of the public. Techniques include but are not limited to; posture and distance when supporting, understanding triggers and escalations signs along with guiding individuals away to deescalate situations.
