Job summary

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is seeking a compassionate Support Practitioner to assist individuals living in their own homes in Motherwell and surrounding areas. You will support with daily living tasks, personal care and activities, while promoting independence and dignity.

No prior care experience is required; full training and a funded SVQ will be provided. The role is 30 hours per week, with weekend shifts on a rotational basis and a requirement for a female driver with access to a car.

  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals living in their own homes with disabilities and/or additional support needs.
  • Support with medication and finances, housework, meal preparation, moving and handling, cooking and personal care.
  • Engage clients in activities and interests, supporting independence and wellbeing.

You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner including a fully funded SVQ.
The Role:

This role is for 30 hours.

Due to the nature of the role we are only able to consider female applicants who drive with access to their own car. Please note this role involves weekend work on a rotational basis.

As a Support Practitioner, you will assist individuals living in their own homes with disabilities and/or additional support needs in all aspects of their daily lives, including support with medication and finances, housework, meal preparation, moving and handling, cooking and personal care.
The people we support have a variety of different hobbies which we’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in, from going out for a tasty bite or catching the latest movie to a gym session or group activity, the list is endless.

We support individuals with a variety of different needs such as physical and/or learning disabilities, ongoing mental health issues, alcohol or substance abuse and autism.
