Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Colchester

Contract type: Full-time/ Long term

Salary scale: £85-£130 per day

Start Date: Immediately

A school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a wide range of complex learning, physical, and emotional needs, ensuring they receive the tailored care and support they require to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with complex learning and physical needs.
2. Inspire and support the students to reach their full potential.
3. Assist with the delivery of personalized learning programs, ensuring the student can access the curriculum and engage in educational activities.
4. Support students with daily tasks which includes personal care and mobility assistance.
5. Work closely with class teachers, the SEN (Special Educational Needs) team, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support plans for students.
6. Promote social inclusion and help students build social and emotional skills.
7. Provide feedback and contribute to monitoring the progress and well-being of students.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

1. Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a learning support role.
2. Relevant experience working with children that have complex needs.
3. A passion for supporting children with complex needs and helping them succeed.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
6. GCSE's grade C (pass) or above.
