Job summary

Gallagher Bassett in the United Kingdom is recruiting experienced Claims Handlers on a contract basis to manage complex disease claims (e.g., Asbestosis, Mesothelioma, HAVS) from inception to resolution.

You will conduct detailed policy investigations, adopt a proactive approach to minimise litigation, and communicate clearly with clients, legal teams and medical professionals, ensuring timely documentation and reporting across cases.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in claims handling, with a strong focus on disease-related claims.
• Experience in handling Employer’s Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims.
• Sound understanding of medical and legal terminology related to disease claims.
• Strong analytical skills to assess claims and identify recovery opportunities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Claims Management: Handle a caseload of complex disease claims from cradle to grave, ensuring thorough investigation and resolution.
• Policy Investigation: Conduct detailed investigations of claims policies to identify recovery opportunities.
• Proactive Claims Approach: Implement a proactive approach to claims management to prevent and reduce litigation, ensuring efficient resolution of claims.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, legal teams, and medical professionals.
• Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all claims are documented accurately and reports are prepared in a timely manner.
