Job summary

Gallagher Bassett in the UK is seeking a Complex Claims Casualty Claims Adjuster to join a values-driven team delivering outcomes for clients. You can work fully remote if based in the UK, with Tamworth as a potential office base.

You will handle high value local authority EL and PL claims, assess liability, negotiate settlements, and guide clients, brokers and claimants through the process. The role offers growth and opportunities to improve processes within a global‑reach organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience handling high value local authority EL and PL claims.
• Solid understanding of insurance principles and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of a diverse portfolio of local authority EL/PL claims, including property damage and personal injury.
• Assess liability, evaluate claims, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Build relationships with clients, brokers, suppliers, insurers and claimants for a seamless experience.
• Provide trusted guidance and expert advice to clients at all stages of the claims process.
• Mentor junior team members and help them grow.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and boost efficiency.

We can offer this role on a fully remote basis. albeit applicants will need to be based in the UK.

How you'll make an impact

• Take charge of a diverse portfolio of local authority public and employer liability claims, covering property damage, personal injury and officials’ indemnity.
• Use your expertise to assess liability, evaluate claims, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Build strong relationships by working closely with clients, brokers, suppliers, insurers and claimants, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
• Offer trusted guidance and expert advice to clients at every stage of the claims process.
• Inspire and mentor junior team members, helping them grow and succeed.

• You bring experience in handling high value local authority employer liability (EL) and public liability (PL) claims.
• You have a solid understanding of insurance principles and regulatory compliance.
