Job summary

Libertatem Healthcare Group in Rockland St. Mary near Norwich is seeking a Complex Care Support Worker to assist a young man with Alfie’s syndrome and spinal injury. You will provide physical and emotional support daily, following a detailed care plan and prioritising safety and compassionate engagement.

This role involves waking nights, 24 hours per week with additional bank shifts. You will collaborate with family and professionals to promote independence and quality of life, handling

Qualifications

• Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours.
• Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
• Female candidate preferred due to client needs.
• Willingness to work waking nights.

Responsibilities

• Follow a detailed care plan with precision.
• Monitor and respond to seizures and epilepsy-related symptoms.
• Remain vigilant and ensure safe seizure management.
• Administer rescue medication as required per care plan.
• Provide reassurance and safety during post-seizure recovery.
• Support daily/nightly bowel and urinary programme.
• Assist with mobility and physiotherapy exercises.
• Provide manual handling assistance (transfers included).
• Deliver medications safely and accurately.
• Perform feeding via jejunal tube as required.
• Use NG tube for drainage and bipap machine for breathing support.
• Use suction equipment when needed.
• Maintain a calm, attentive atmosphere for a client who tires easily.

Join Our Team as a Complex Care Support Worker – Make a Real Difference!

Are you looking for a rewarding and engaging role in complex clinical care? We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client with complex needs in Rockland St. Mary, near Norwich.

Pay: £14.68 per hour weekdays, £15.20 per hour weekends.

Hours: Waking nights, 24 hours per week & bank (19:30 - 07:30)

About the Role

You’ll be supporting a young man in his 20's who has complex needs due to Alfie’s syndrome and spinal injury, including: seizures, mobility issues and learning difficulties. We're looking for someone with experience in complex care and the ability to build a strong, supportive relationship through clear communication and empathy.

He lives at home with his loving and lively family. He enjoys football, baking, quiz shows and chatting - his favourite topics range from Peppa Pig to world politics. He’s warm, funny, and truly inspiring.

Your role will be to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest.

What We’re Looking For

Due to the client's needs, we’re seeking a female support worker with:

• A genuine passion for care and making a difference
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
• Reliable, committed, and flexible approach
• Experience in complex care and managing challenging behaviours
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You’ll need to be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and her family.
