Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking caring, reliable Complex Needs Support Assistants to work within specialist education settings across Sunderland. You will support young people with severe learning difficulties, PMLD, and complex medical or physical needs, providing 1:1 and small-group support and assisting with personal care where required.

This role offers flexible full-time or part-time hours and a chance to make a real difference in students' lives.

Qualifications

• Background in care or residential support preferred.
• Experience with complex needs/PMLD is advantageous.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient; comfortable with personal care.
• Experience in SEN education is welcome.
• Legal right to work in the UK is required.

Complex Needs Support Assistant

Location: Sunderland
Pay: 95- 110 per day

Veritas Education is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Complex Needs Support Assistants to work within specialist education settings across Sunderland.

You’re supporting young people with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical or physical needs. One of the specialist academies we’re supporting in Sunderland works with young people aged 11-19 with severe learning difficulties and profound, multiple and complex medical needs.

What could the role involve?

• Supporting pupils throughout their school day
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Personal care and physical support where required
• Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
• Supporting pupils with sensory and learning activities
• Working closely with teachers and experienced support staff

Who are we looking for?

Previous school experience is not essential. We’d particularly like to hear from people with backgrounds in:

• Care or residential support
• Healthcare
• Complex needs/PMLD support
• Children’s support work
• Supported living
• SEN education

You’ll need to be patient, compassionate, resilient and comfortable providing personal care where required.
