Role overview:

As a Complex Care Nurse for Innovate Care Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe, outstanding care of our Female client in Bexhill. You will play a crucial role in managing and delivering high-quality, safe care for this client at home. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will support the client’s daily care needs, focusing on clinical interventions such as tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation, and seizure management.

Requirements:

  • Critical care experience (12-18 months)OR
  • Experience in complex care with tracheostomy, ventilation, and seizure management(within the last 12 months)

Competency in the following areas is required:

· Oral suctioning

· Cough assist

· Nebuliser therapy

· Oxygen therapy

· Tracheostomy care

· Epilepsy management

· Medication administration

· PEG management

· Mechanical ventilation

What you will do:

  • To provide safe, effective, person centred care to all our clients by following local and government policies and procedures.
  • To act in accordance with the NMC to provide Nursing/complex care to clients at home.
  • To always maintain safety for you as the worker, your colleagues and the individual being cared for.
  • To support in the provision of evidence-based practice by sharing information provided by the clinical team to your colleagues.
  • To work with as part of a multi-disciplinary team to enhance service user’s satisfaction.
  • To assess the service users’ needs each visit and ensure that the care being provided is still appropriate for the client’s needs.
  • To ensure that all safeguarding issues are escalated as per policy.
  • To contribute to a regional or local on call rota and cover for colleagues in the event of an emergency.

Your skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Valid NMC Nursing PIN
  • Ability to prioritise clinical tasks
  • Experience with adults with complex needs
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude
  • Willingness to be part of a family-centred team
  • Demonstratable commitment to providing high quality, safe and effective care
  • Have an understanding of safeguarding
  • Have the ability to recognise deterioration in both psychological and physical health
  • Confident navigating systems with good IT skills
