Job summary

Libertatem Healthcare Group is seeking a Female Complex Care Assistant to support a young child with complex needs in Pocklington, York. You will provide personal and clinical care with full training provided to ensure consistency and comfort for the child and family.

You’ll work in a supportive team with ongoing training, flexible zero-hours arrangements, and a focus on building trust. A kind, patient approach and a valid UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: Some experience within a care or support role.
• Desirable: Experience in complex care (training provided).
• Kind, patient and flexible approach.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Full UK driving licence (essential due to location).

Responsibilities

• Providing personal and clinical care including gastrostomy and rescue medications.
• Performing oral and deep suctioning as required.
• Supporting chest physiotherapy and use of Cough Assist devices.
• Assisting with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) per care plans.
• Delivering pressure area care and monitoring skin integrity.
• Supporting epilepsy and seizure management, including emergency protocols.
• Monitoring the child’s condition and escalating concerns.
• Creating a safe, engaging and nurturing environment.
• Building positive, professional relationships with family.
• Following individualised care plans and risk assessments.

About the Role

You will be supporting a young child who requires full assistance with daily living. He enjoys music, cuddles, storytime, and interactive play. We are looking for someone warm, patient, and nurturing who can build trust and bring reassurance to both the child and his family.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing personal and clinical care, including gastrostomy care and medication administration, including rescue medication
• Performing oral and deep suctioning as required
• Supporting chest physiotherapy and use of Cough Assist automatic devices
• Assisting with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in line with care plans
• Delivering high-quality pressure area care and monitoring skin integrity
• Supporting and responding to epilepsy and seizure management, including emergency protocols
• Monitoring the child’s condition and escalating concerns appropriately
• Creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment
• Building positive, professional relationships with the child and family
• Following individualised care plans, clinical guidance, and risk assessments
