Job summary

Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH, in Ockley is seeking a compassionate carer to join our overnight complex care team. You will support a delightful child with CHARGE syndrome, following a detailed care plan that includes ventilator care, PEG feeds via mini-button, hydration and medication administration.

You will be supported by Advantage Healthcare London branch and attend regular supervision with a registered nurse to guide and assist with any clinical concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience in a complex care setting.
• Experience with PEG feeds and administering medication via this method.
• Experience with suctioning.
• Experience caring for non-verbal children and those using sign-supported communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight care to a ventilated child per the care plan.
• Administer PEG feeds via mini-button, manage hydration and nutrition.
• Perform oral suctioning and oxygen administration.
• Work with a registered nurse to ensure care needs are met and to support any clinical queries.

Job Description

What you’ll do

Be a part of a special care team delivering care to our client who is a delightful child to support him to reach his full potential.

The client has CHARGE syndrome and due to this the client has a multitude of impairments where you will deliver overnight care in line with the care plan which includes, care of the ventilated child, PEG feeds via mini-button for medication, hydration and nutrients, oral suctioning and oxygen administration.

You will be supported by Advantage Healthcare London branch and invited to attend regular supervisions and team meetings. A registered nurse will ensure you are competent in our client’s care needs and support with any clinical concerns and queries you may have.

What you’ll need

Prior to the interview stage you need to have the following experience to be eligible:

• Experience working in a complex care setting.
• Experience withPEG feeds and administering medication via this method.
• Experience with suctioning.
• Experience of caring for children who non-verbal in nature, sign-supported and/or sensory communication.
• You will need to be a car driver due to the location.
